Robin Washington Named Salesforce’s New COFO
Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), the global leader in AI-powered customer relationship management (CRM), has announced Robin Washington as its new President and Chief Operating and Financial Officer (COFO). Effective March 21, 2025, Washington will spearhead the company’s strategic transformation, focusing on profitable growth, operational excellence, and financial strategy.
Washington, a seasoned leader with decades of experience, will also champion Salesforce’s groundbreaking Agentforce platform. This AI-driven innovation is set to redefine how businesses operate in the emerging agentic era. “I am deeply honored to step into this role at such a defining moment for Salesforce,” Washington said.
A Proven Leader with a Stellar Track Record
Robin Washington brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has held leadership positions at some of the world’s most respected companies, including Gilead Sciences, Hyperion Solutions, and PeopleSoft. Currently, she serves on the boards of Alphabet, Honeywell International, and Vertiv Holdings.
Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, expressed confidence in Washington’s ability to lead. “Robin has been a trusted partner and key architect of our strategy,” Benioff said. “Her operational mastery and strategic vision make her the perfect leader for this transformational shift.”
A New Era for Salesforce Leadership
Washington’s appointment coincides with the retirement of Brian Millham, Salesforce’s Chief Operating Officer, after 25 years of service. Millham will step down on May 1, 2025, and transition into an advisory role. Benioff praised Millham’s contributions, stating, “Brian has shaped the very DNA of Salesforce.”
Arnold Donald will assume the role of Lead Independent Director on Salesforce’s Board, following Amy Weaver’s departure as CFO. Weaver, who has been instrumental in Salesforce’s financial management, will continue supporting the leadership team until her successor is named.
Driving Innovation with the Agentforce Platform
As COFO, Washington will lead Salesforce’s efforts to accelerate the adoption of its Agentforce platform. This AI-powered tool is designed to revolutionize business operations by optimizing efficiency and innovation. The agentic era represents a seismic shift in workforce dynamics, and Salesforce aims to be at the forefront of this transformation.
“The agentic era will fundamentally change how businesses operate, innovate, and grow,” Washington said. Her leadership will be crucial in positioning Salesforce as a trailblazer in AI and CRM solutions.
A Legacy of Excellence and Recognition
Robin Washington’s exceptional leadership has earned her numerous accolades. She will be honored as a Legacy Award recipient at the 2025 Women of Power Summit in Las Vegas. The event, which attracts 2,000 female executives, will feature Washington as a speaker in the “Conversations that Count” session on Peak Performance.
Washington’s appointment marks a significant milestone for Salesforce and underscores the company’s commitment to diversity and innovation. With her at the helm, Salesforce is poised to redefine industries and empower businesses worldwide.
