In a groundbreaking television event, Oprah Winfrey is set to delve into the world of artificial intelligence (AI) with a star-studded lineup of tech experts.
The special, titled “AI and the Future of Us: An Oprah Winfrey Special,” will air on September 12 at 8 P.M. ET, with the option to stream on Hulu the following day.
Produced by Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, the special will feature an enlightening discussion between Winfrey and some of the foremost minds in technology.
Joining her are Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and influential content creator Marques Brownlee. The program promises to offer viewers a comprehensive and engaging exploration of AI’s impact on society.
“AI, it may fascinate or scare you or if you’re like me it may do both so let’s take a breath and find out more about it,” said Winfrey in a video announcing the special. “I’ve gathered some of the country’s leading experts to answer all of our questions.”
The logline for the special highlights its dual focus on serious discourse and accessible education.
“Altman will explain how AI works in layman’s terms and discuss the immense personal responsibility that must be borne by the executives of AI companies,” the description reads. “Gates will lay out the AI revolution coming in science, health, and education and warn of the once-in-a-century type of impact AI may have on the job market, while Brownlee will demonstrate some of AI’s most mind-blowing capabilities.”
